395 "Griffon" Squadron
| Each year at the squadron Annual Parade & Banquet, a number of awards are given out to outstanding cadets in recognition of their performance in particular categories or activities. This year, the annual parade and banquet will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012. Below is a list of all the awards that are available to be won with information about each award and a list of past winners. Names in bold are individuals still involved with 395 squadron as either staff or cadets. | |||

Lord Strathcona Medal![]() |
"The Lord Strathcona Trust Fund Medal, most commonly referred to as the Lord Strathcona Medal is the highest award, which can be bestowed upon a cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training". Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence![]() |
"The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Cadet Medal of Excellence is awarded in
recognition for individual endeavours in citizenship that meet or
enhance the aims and objectives of the cadet movement". (CATO 13-16).
Each squadron can award one medal per training year in conjunction with
the Royal Canadian Legion. For more information,

Awarded to the cadet who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership both at the squadron and in the community. This award is a cash scholarship of $500. This award was for five years only and will not be awarded again. |

Candidates are also assessed on their level of loyalty, honesty, integrity and respect to the other students and instructors both inside and outside the dojo training facility. |
