Announcements - 9 March 2010 Remember Daylight Savings this weekend - on March 14, 2010 at 2:00 a.m., set the clocks ahead one hour. CADET ANNOUNCEMENTS: SATURDAY, MARCH 13th: - Ø KARATE - 10:00 – 12:00 PM – wear loose fitting clothes or Gi. Remember to pack a lunch if doing afternoon activities. Ø RC Club – 10:00 – 12:00 PM – Those that signed up last week are to show up. If you have commitments with the Bottle drive, the bottle drive is the priority. Ø DRILL – NO DRILL TODAY Ø SPORTS - 12:30 – 2:30 PM – loose fitting clothing Ø MARKSMANSHIP – CANCELLED SO NONE THIS WEEKEND Ø BOTTLE DRIVE – Mandatory for all cadets going on Montreal trip. Note that if cadet is in Karate, cadet is to participate in Karate and then come help with bottle drive. Lunch will be provided to all cadets participating in the bottle drive. FSgt. and down are to wear uniforms. Sr.’s can be in civilian attire as they will be in the back helping sort. SUNDAY, MARCH 14th: Ø Power familiarization flying – 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Meet at the Edmonton Flying Club on Airport Road (beside the control tower). Remember if you sign up be sure to show up. If you can’t show up be sure to call and leave a message. If flying is cancelled due to weather, there will be a message updated on the phone (780-454-5434) shortly after 8:00 am. Dress warmly. Cadets flying are: El- Zein Guo Martens Schneider Lee, I Sheridan Zary Maron Chen Li Sanchez, D Scharfenberger, E Toro Currie Rivera Jordan Crier Franco Jaya Crier Ø Survival Camp: (Bush camp) will be April 9 – 11th at Camp Wright. Sign up tonight by Level’s. Ø 395 Squadron Dance: Tues. March 23. Details will follow. THEME: SUPERHEROS Ø Level I’s Pens for Africa: Reminder to bring in new/used/unwanted pens to go to Kenya, Africa. See Lt. Garnier. Ø Shooting Federation of Canada: March 13th – Cancelled for this weekend. Ø Cadets who got sized are to go to supply to pick up your new uniforms. MISSING CADET: 17 Yr Old Woman Missing - SHE HAS BEEN FOUND!Ø Cadets, kit bags, coats, etc. are no longer to be along the north wall. Effective immediately please ensure you or your belongings are along the SOUTH WALL. PARENT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Ø BINGO FUNDRAISER - March 20th at Kensington Bingo from 10:45 am – 4:00 p.m. Volunteers required. Also, require volunteers for Sunday, April 4th. Reminder that 4 cadets are required. Please see Marion Rickett. Ø Bottle Drive: March 13th Please support those cadets going on Montreal Trip. The bottle drive is mandatory for cadets going on the trip & if unable to be there due to prior commitments must still have representation (e.g. Mom or Dad or family another family member). Lunch will be provided for all participating in the bottle drive. All other cadets are more than welcome to come and support your fellow cadets. Not all the money raised will be for the Montreal trip. If you have bottles and would like to donate them to the bottle drive, please bring them this weekend (March 13). Cadets are asked to be here between 9:00 am & 10:00 am. PARENT WITH VANS OR TRUCKS are also required. If you can help, please be here by 9:30 am. DRESS: FSGT. AND DOWN – IN FULL UNIFORM, SR’S IN CIVILIAN ATTIRE (Sr’s. will be helping parents sort). MAJOR STE CROIX: Ø The chinte’s are finally gone! Any future liberation of mascots from 504 is off limits on Monday’s. Ø 100 Cadets on parade tonight! Ø Only 1/3 of cadets were represented at the parents meeting tonight. Fundraising also seems to be diminishing. New parents, please show more support, it is your cadet too. Ø Silent Auction: Thankyou to the parents who supported the silent auction. SPECIAL MENTION: Ø Congratulations to Sgt. Scharfenberger on her achievements in her Highland Dance exams (Level 5). Ø Congratulations to Sgt. Peddle for winning this month’s Pizza Voucher. |
